A group of musicians who have jammed with each other at various points in our music careers. Then one day the idea was thought of to join all of our musical talents into one. Creating the power group that is now the all OCEANPORT NJ based LOOSE FIT! Joey Henderson has been influenced by music all of his life. He can play songs on the piano, ukulele, banjo, acoustic, to electric guitar, you name it. Joey’s musical backround is very blues orientated from listening to artists such as The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Allman brothers. His funny personality and knowledge of music make the licks he plays very addictive. Ray Cunneff the drummer of the band is heavily influnced from reggae music and surfing.
Pat Oakes is the guitarist of Loose Fit, his style is heavily influenced by groups such as slightly stoopid, sublime, and the allman brothers. Kevin Lipert is the funky man on the bass. In his spare time of not playing bass guitar, he enjoys making bear noises and funny faces, as well as beatboxing like a savage.

An original Rock and Roll band from the Jersey Shore and New York City. The band was formed in 2004 and quickly developed into one of New Jersey’s most dynamic new bands. The group consists of Jeff Cafone (Guitar, Vocals), Mark Masefield (Hammond B3 Organ, Keyboards), Francis Valentino (Drums), and Ryan Wheeler (Bass). They blend classic elements of rock with a modern flare and a driving blues-inspired pop edge. After releasing their first EP in 2008, the band was selected as the Stone Pony Summer House Band for the following two years. Between 2007 and 2010, OTB won Asbury Music Awards for Top Young Band, Top Blues Band, and Top Keyboardist. They also received nominations for Top Rock Band, Top Male Vocalist, Best Live Performance, Song of the Year (Suddenly Saturday), and Top Drummer.

John has been playing guitar since 1968 and has collected vintage guitars for the past 10 years. He is a member of the Red Bank Music Community (RBMC) and his passion for the past two years has been making and playing cigar box guitars. The cigar box guitar or “CBG” has a rich musical history and has enjoyed a recent spike in interest among local musicians. John has made over fifty of these instruments including acoustic, electric, license plate resonator, and tradition types of CBG’s under the “Lazy B” cigar box guitar name. John’s band “Johnny Stompbox and the Stompers” has a forthcoming CD that features an “all cigar box instruments” lineup of original blues songs and also spreads the story of the long musical history of the CBG!

So many have never heard the name Dan Mulvey, but so many have seen and heard his work. Bassists extraordinaire, Dan is the leader on the shore when it comes to upright bass and that bluesey, jazzy, rockabilly sound. Dan is the regular bassist for the Sonny Kenn Band, as well as for shore regular Stringbean and the Stalkers. Dan is a very busy on call bassist, and is constantly on the road with many, many stars. Dan recently received a Danelectro Model 3412 Short Horn bass and was hooked. This panel discussion and jam was Dan’s idea. Let’s all thank him for that.

There is a lot that has been said about Sonny Kenn, and it is hard to improve on that. Robert Santelli, curator of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has said, “Kenn was the shore’s first real rock’n'roll guitar star. As the frontman in the popular mid 1960′s group Sonny and the Starfires, Kenn was THE one who cut the path Springsteen and virtually every other shore rocker would follow…”
As with Vini Lopez, Sonny Kenn is the quintessential piece of the Sounds of Asbury Park, as well as Asbury Park and the jersey shore’s current day leader. Sonny not only is one of the greatest guitar players of a generation, but he is also an artist of note.
Sonny has won numerous awards for his blues guitar playing, and was awarded the prestigious Asbury Music Award for Lifetime Achievement in 2007.

Vini “Maddog” Lopez has been involved in the music business for over forty years. He started his musical adventure plying a valve bugle in a drum corp, not drums as one would expect. When Vini met Buzzy Lubinsky, who played drums along with records, Vini became hooked. Buzzy helped him with the drums and within a year, Vini joined SONNY AND THE STARFIRES.
Playing with Sonny for a few years gave him the experience and knowledge of how rock n’ roll worked. Soon after Vini and Danny Federici were looking for a guitar player who could sing, when they encountered Bruce Springsteen. Bruce joined their band where things evolved from there, such as Steel Mill and eventually the E STREET BAND.
Vini has played with many legendary shore area bands and artists, to include John Lurashi, Bill Chinnock, Lance Larson and of course, Sonny Kenn. Vini has had several projects of his own, including shore regulars THE DISCO REJECTS. Vini is now leading his band STEEL MILL RETRO as well as his newest project, License to Chill.

Richrusso.net A lifelong jersey resident, Russo grew up listening to NY and NJ radio and remembers how the DJs were almost as big as the music they were playing. He feels DJ’s need an identity and need to go beyond just playing what research or record labels are pitching. He probably averages seeing 1 to 2 live shows a week, and has seen the E Street Band live close to 400 times as has seen close to 50 Pearl Jam shows and numerous other bands at various stages of their careers.
