Brookdale Guitar Show

With Marc Muller
Ever wonder how to play all that fancy stuff over jazzy changes? Ever get confused with all the ‘greek’ used to explain modes? Well me too! So, if you know a major scale or two and maybe a couple pentatonic scales stop by for this presentation of what may be a simpler, more ‘player’ oriented point of view on how to approach the subject. We’ll go over some quick, basic analysis of standards and how to plug in those ‘go to’ scales all us guitar players know and love so much.

A Monmouth County multi-instrumentalist, writer/arranger and producer, having toured with Shania Twain, Van Zant and Tommy Shaw, to name a few. As a producer, Marc has worked with Steve Forbert on his last 2 releases “Just Like There’s Nothing To It” and “Strange Names and New Sensations” and Dave Murphy’s release “Chasing Ghosts” (as well as his soon to be released follow up “Songs From Snake Hill”), all of which were in regular rotation on 90.5 The NIGHT.

Marc’s instrumental original CD “American Home Cooking” released in 1997 was also heavily played on The NIGHT as well as being a featured artist at many Jersey Shore music events such as Red Bank’s “Riverfests”, “Jazz In The Park” series and Asbury Park’s “Guitarbeque”. Marc’s upcoming CD features the wonderful talents of bass great Victor Wooten and drummer Rod Morgenstein. As a writer/arranger Marc has worked on many songs for Disney Channel’s “Bear In The Big Blue House”, “The Book Of Pooh”, as well as shows for PBS, ABC-TV, Showtime and Nickelodeon.

    Dear Guitar Clinic,

Am I expected to have a guitar with me to participate properly in this event?

Or can I simply be resent, observe and take notes.

    Thanks for your response.

You can bring a guitar (it will get you a $5 discount) but if you don’t you can just sit back and take notes. Players of any level are encouraged to come to all of the clinics.
