Tom Richards was born and raised in Neptune, and grew up just a short distance from the old Danelectro plant on Sylvania Avenue. Like most of the local jersey shore kids, his first instrument was a Silvertone guitar, made right in the Neptune, NJ Danelectro plant. Tom’s instrument of choice is the bass, and he has been holding down the bottom here for over 30 years in several original and cover bands. Tom’s side gig has been as an engineer at Fort Monmouth, which put him in touch with the early history of Danelectro founder Nathan Daniel.
Tom is the “go to guy” for several east coast vintage guitar shops when it comes to all things made in Neptune. This includes Danelectro, Silvertone, Coral, Kramer and Vaccaro guitars and instruments. Tom has several “Made in Neptune” instruments, his most prized being his 1968 Silvertone 1442 and a rare Dan Armstrong Modified Danelectro.
Tom Richards is a frequent contributor on the Dano Mania forum (all things Danelectro) as well as a featured contributer on Talkbass.com. When he’s not out playing his Danelectro instruments, Tom can be found working with LIX Music Creation and Production as well as consulting with several well known guitar and bass manufacturers.

Kenny’s roots as a musician date back to days of jamming with his father at the age of 11. Today, they still play together, though it sometimes takes a little coaxing on the younger Kenny’s part. Kenny remains impressed with his Dad’s musical talent, and his ability to improvise lyrics during their jam sessions. “Those are usually the best times that I have,” Kenny said. As Kenny grew up, his musical influences changed over time, which is why his sound does not fit neatly into any one category. One can hear traces of his childhood heavy metal tastes, along with stylings of Michael Hedges in his finger-style guitar and acoustic percussion. He also noted influence from musicians of the 1960s and ’70s, like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young. His most recent musical role model is blues man Reverend Gary Davis. “He just sings his soul out,” Kenny said.
